Happy happy greetings and a warm welcome back to everyone!
In keeping with the nature of Spring we are having some new beginnings of our very own to bounce us into the new term! We are excited and delighted to have created a space for two year olds in the room the Sea Cadets use to peruse charts. As parents you may be more familiar with it as the buggy, scooter and bike store room. But no more! This holiday has seen it blossom and evolve into a gorgeous cosy space for two year olds in the morning sessions. Anna, Fawzia and Tim put heads together with lovely results! Tim laid the new floor and did an Ikea run, Anna was the creative director in designing the space and Fawzia ran around a lot and chipped in here and there! And now all we need is the arrival of our two year olds on Monday morning. Let the fun, cuteness and laughter commence! One of the first things we are going to do is get our two year olds to suggest a name for their room... It's the end of term! And what a fabulous, fun and tantalising way to finish this term. Not quite the Big Bang that we started off the term with but we did see off the meteorite and meet the first mammals. We greeted them with our tetrapod dance which became quite a thing. One boy asked in outside play if we could do the tetrapod dance as it was so sunny and why not?!
We were swamped by killer pigs, terrifying birds, marvellous marsupials and hairy mammoths! We learned that they were all absolutely humongous! A killer pig was the size of Tim! ( nearly 6 foot). But then that was par for the course... The consensus was that we would have been mince meat!! Onto the springtime singing circle! All parents and friends were invited. We sang about Aitken Drum who lived in the moon, his hair was made of spaghetti, eyes were made of meatballs and he played upon a ladel. We were highly tuneful about a little green frog that went 'Ga Gum' and 'Tra la la la la'. One girl fundamentally disagreed stating that the little green frog she knew went 'Ga Lumpf!' The other children thought the little green frog should be saying 'Boody boody boo'. Who knows?! We finally finished off the singing circle with 'Willaby Wallaby Woo, an elephant sat on you!' Tim went round all the children in the circle singing their names and saying how they had been sat on! One dad told me he was a little disappointed that the Elephant didn't sit on him. Not to worry. I reassured him that that elephant is sure to be back and will almost certainly flatten him like a pancake! Happy Easter to everyone!! |
